Can I sue yahoo for copyright violations?

I made a book out of all my questions and answers posted on yahoo, but yahoo refuses to delete them all and uses them to advertise on my questions and best answers? Can I sue them for copyright violations?

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

why not

Answer 2

Sorry, but you signed their TOS allowing them to do this. Everything you ask/answer here is their property. They are in the green zone.

Answer 3

yahoo answers holds the copyright of all these posts. so do you also have permission from all the other parties to republish their commentary?

Answer 4

You should have read the Terms of Service before posting questions. They have the rights to keep them up. In fact, they possibly could sue you for copyright if you publish a book from your questions. (Also, keep in mind that the person answering your questions could also potentially have copyrights, at least if you think your questions deserve them-- wouldn't their answers too)

Answer 5

Actually they could sue you for copyright violations

Answer 6

hey, you can sue anyone over anything, but is the expense worth it. money flushed if you don't win. you need a strong case to start with, which you do not have.

Answer 7

Did you pay to have each and everyone copyrighted ? Then they aren't copyrighted. Yahoo owns the site anyway. They are giving us a free service. Be thankful for that. You would have to prove damages, which you have none.

Answer 8

Certainly you can. Go out and find the very best lawyer you can, pay him a $20,000 retainer fee, then go for it. What can you lose ... except $20,000??
