Does AnyDVD remove copyright protection from cd-roms? And does it work with all burning applications?

I was trying to copy a legally bought cd-rom game from my friend but wen when I tried to use it with copy the disk with nero and a few other applications but they all seemed to fail and say that the disk had copyright protection. If anydvd doesn't remove copyright protection from cd-roms can you give me an appliction that does.

Answer 1

You need BlindWrite: http://www.vso-software.fr/download_product_direct.php?product=blindwrite

Answer 2

AnyDVD only removes movie and music dvd protection schemes. It does not remove or deal with commercial protections on major game releases. Currently the most effective methods for accomplishing this, for personal back up purposes only, is using either Daemon Tools Pro Advanced or Alcohol 52% / Alcohol 120% Alcohol 52% is free. The only feature it lacks is burning to DVD, but you can mount your dvd image to a virtual drive and use it like that. It's probably more efficient this way also. And, you can always burn the image to a dvd and just mount the image from the dvd ;)
