Does this website break any copyright / trademark / intellectual property laws?

Hi guys, I'm curious as to what extent that people can create websites. I understand that for domain names oen is safe from copyright laws for as long as the site never claims that they are affiliated to the original owner. But what about intellectual properties and trademarks? Does this site break any of those: http://www.familyguyquotes.com/ A reference on your idea would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Answer 1

Well seeing as they give full credit to Family Guy for these quotes and aren't claiming them as their own or using them for commercial purposes... I would say that they're ok in doing this.

Answer 2

A copyright holder has the exclusive right to display or copy their intellectual property. The word "exclusive" cannot be ignored -- regardless of whether credit is given to the rightful copyright owner, if a website does not obtain permission to copy and display copyrighted material, the display of the material is considered copyright infringement.
