I need to know if a book is posted on Wattpad.com and has All Rights Reserved filled out in the copyright box, does this mean it is actually copyrighted and if this book is sent out that nobody can steal it? and also i am thinking of making a film out of this... If I were to do so, if I wrote "Based on the book" Would it automatically be copyrighted?

Any work not explicitly dedicated to the public domain is automatically copyrighted by the author simply by having created it. "All rights reserved" is an extra warning that the author is claiming those protections granted to him/her by copyright law. If you were to make a film out of this book without permission from the copyright owner, you would be infringing on one of his exclusive rights -- the right to create a derivative work. Writing "based on the book" does not make your use fair use -- it simply shows that you are fully aware that you're infringing on the rights of the copyright owner, which does not help your case. A better option would be to contact the author about licensing the movie rights to his/her intellectual property.
