How can I copyright my logo?

I would like to copyright my logo.. Who would I contact? How much is it? Would I need to get a business liscense, pay gross reciepts, etc.?

http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/ http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-protect.html There are many ways of how to protect your logo, and make it copyright it, so that nobody else could steal it from you. To register your logo, try checking this: http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-general.html#register I'm not sure how much it is or anything else, but by reading these could tell your the right information for you, your business, and logo. Anybody can copyright any work of original artwork, free of charge. Just put: © Copyright 2010 Name of Owner Right under it. That flags to the world that you intend to protect your copyright privileges. Now, you can also register the artwork with the US government for additional protection, but that isn't really necessary. The most you need to do is mail yourself a notarized copy of the artwork with the copyright notice so you can prove the date, in the unlikely event you need to prove ownership in court.
