How can I get copyright permission from bands to make YouTube videos with their songs?

It's ridiculous! Thankfully I'm allowed to do Evanescence, but I get copyright issues if I try to do Paramore, Flyleaf, etc unless I get permission from them or their record company. Is there any way I can do that?

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

If they're signed you'd probably have to contact the label directly in order to get permission to use the studio recording. Under normal contract circumstances, the label owns all the copyrights to the sound recording of the song, so even if the band says you can use it you still have to get permission from the label.

Answer 2

Certain labels are like that. Just use the music and sometimes action is not required they just put up advertisements on your videos to get money for u using their music etc.. Otherwise you need to contact the label etc, but they usually want something out of it.

Answer 3

You have to buy permission from the record company which would cost $10k probably.

Answer 4

having lots of money You'd have to pay to license the song for your video, which could cost mutli-thousands and then you'd have to also pay royalties every time the video is viewed.
