All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

copyrights are tricky, do you have a friend who is lawyer? Ask the legal rep at the company you a building it for.

Answer 2

If they are paying you for the development, technically it belongs to them. If you are selling them a finished product with the understanding that you own the code and have it copyright or pending, that is different. Talk to a software copyright attorney to make sure you are covered.

Answer 3

As a general rule of thumb, if you are the author of the code, you own the copyright. However, usually in a job contract you are asked to sign a Work for Hire (WFH) agreement, which basically means your employee or software buyer owns the copyright instead.
