Is it fine to put copyright symbol on site if it contains legitimate images, allowed for use?

I want to protect the text and other website elements and therefore want to copyright the site. Is it fine to put the symbol on bottom of page (and register the site), if the site has some outside images (which are allowed for use)?

Answer 1

As long as your site's content is yours and you have used external content which is NOT copyrighted, then yes. Ron

Answer 2

There is a way that you can still officially copywrite outside images. You know, when you hover over an image it'll sometimes show text in a little box beside your mouse? If you do that to images you grabbed from other sites, use that, since it is technically a form of citation, therefore there will be no copywrite infringement. ie. <img src='image.jpg' title='Source: http://www.blubber.com/hoard.jpg' /> Also, in your copywrite statement make sure that you don't refer as foreign images as "yours". Good Luck!
