Is it illegal to sell DVD slideshows that use copyright music or other material?

I was curious to know if it is illegal to use copyright music for a slideshow or a short video. Say I wanted to create a wedding DVD scrapbook and used well-known music artists, but I will be making a profit, would there be any legal problems? Can I simply cite the music and/or other copyright materials used in the presentation?

Depends. If you have the permission of the copyright holder (normally obtained by paying a fee) you can sell them without issue.
Otherwise, no giving credit is not enough, you need permission. You can be sued big time, particularly since you are making a profit. Answer 2
