Is putting your face on pictures from the internet against copyright?

For a project, I need to make a life todo list. It has to be creative though. I was thinking of finding a picture of (for example) a skydiver, but then paste my face on the picture so it looked like it was me doing so. Is this against copyright? Can i get in trouble for this?

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

no. clip away. just don't try and sell it.

Answer 2

if you have time be really creative and just go skydive and get your own picture. It's probably the most scary thing i have ever done.

Answer 3

i dont think so , my teachers have done it for class before

Answer 4

As long as you aren't trying to copyright it yourself, and you don't try to sell the picture, than no. Millions of people do this everyday. If you post a picture on the internet without copyrights on it then anyone can do whatever they want to it.

Answer 5

Only if you use it for your own profit.

Answer 6

Likely no, and here's why. Photos taken of someone else (even if of an unsuspecting subject) are the property of the photo taker, provided the photos were snapped legally. If its uploaded to the web, its probably unlikely that the photographer really cares. This is why wedding photographers get to reproduce your photos without your permission. Its their property. Either way though, copyright laws are only really enforced if one party is profiteering from a photo belonging to someone else. That means if you somehow accessed a papparazzo's million dollar shot at Kim Kardashian's rear (or pulled it from the web) and sold it on your website, thats a copyright infringement case. In your case, it probably all good. Just to be sure, check to see if there is a C mark anywhere in the photo. This will tell you if the photo is protected (or just that the photographer is jealous enough to hunt you down if you touch his stuff).
