what type of personal information is included on a copyright form? i asked a man to send me his copyright registration number so that i could look it up at copyright.gov, but he said he wouldn't send me the registration number because it would give out too much personal info like his SSN. is that true, or is he making it up? I'm only familiar with Copyright Form PA, which is used for works of the performing arts (films, for example). Form PA asks for the author's name, nationality, date of birth, date of death (if deceased), the nature of the authorship (writer, director...) and whether the authorship is anonymous or made under a pseudonym. Form PA doesn't have a space for an author's SSN. I don't know what you mean by "copyright registration number" - do you mean the number given to a registered work? I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by looking up a filed copyright form.
