Basically, I dont want to put the little (C) mark on my work because it will look ugly on the website design I have made. Is it okay to not put any copyright notice on, and still have copyright protection? Or is it better to put it on to stop being copied, just in case? I will have a terms and conditions page though which will detail the legalities of my work. Thanks in advance.

If you do not apply the copyright symbol, you're essentially making it easier for someone to copy it. But as long as your terms and conditions state that your are the copyright holder, it's legally protected.

Under U.S law, everything that can be copyrighted / falls under copyright will get protection. If you want to/need to take legal action, however, registration with the proper offices is probably necessary Copyright doesn't automatically stop people from being able to copy it, it provides a temporary monopoly over how the work is used and / or distributed, but that doesn't affect the physical, or digital means of copying.
