Answer 2

I'm not sure about the legality's of actual copyright, but I have heard that you can do what is referred to as a 'poor mans copyright'. Package your book together, and mail it to yourself, only when it arrives you DO NOT open it. If in the event your book is copied or if you feel like your idea has been plagiarized the post date on the package is said to hold up in court. I'm not 100% sure this is accurate but I hope it helps.

Answer 3

Well you can go through the copyright process with the government. But it is best if you get an agent (which is free until you begin to send out your novel). And then they will help you with all the things like editors and copywrite agenst and publishers. But getting your book published is the best way to get a copyright. Get a document notarized stating that the work is your own and original and that any names, places, or events that occur in your writing do not relate to anyone living or dead, and if so appears, it is coincidence. I am a teen author, and have 3 books currently in the publishing process, one in editting. The fiction novels which are part of a trilogy are the one's in publishing and already have a copyright which I got through my agent/ninja. The Non-Fiction novel must be reviewed, editted and published before recieving a copyright as all the sources must be reviewed for accuracy and plagerism. So I would recommend either checking out information on the government copyright website, or finishing your book, be sure you want to go through with it, and then get an agent. good luck!

Answer 4

It's copyrighted the second it leaves your keyboard. If you mean a formal copyright, you do that through the US Copyright Office: http://www.copyright.gov/register/ However, if you plaster it with copyrights and then send it to editors and agents like that, it will mark you as an amateur. The "poor man's copyright" is a giant myth. All it proves is that you mailed an envelope to yourself, not that it was actually sealed when you mailed it. It WILL NOT stand up in court. Period.

Answer 5

You will need to register with the U.S. Copyright Office or if copyrighting your book outside of the U.S., you will need to find a reputable international copyright registration organization.

Answer 6

mail it to yourself but make sure you sign it. my godmom told me tht but i have no idea ow you mail it to yourself lmao
