Question: Should I get a US or International copyright?
Should I get a US or International copyright

I'm developing a comic book, and I'm trying to hire an artist for concept art. Unfortunately, he lives in Germany, and I'm not sure conventional copyright laws will apply since that's where the work will be made. Should I get a US, or International Copyright to cover the art? I don't want to get an International copyright, because that has less duration than the US copyright. However, that would protect it more, and when I publish the comic I don't want anyone copying my idea in another country. What do Marvel and DC do to protect their characters?

international copyright

I have a logo I have been using for the last 29 years in europe. Because of Internet I have discovered that some has exactly the same logo for the same type of business in the US and has been using that for 30 years. I can prove I received the logo from a graphic artist. They can also prove they had it one year earlier. None of the logos are registered as a trademark. Because we advertise in the US via internet we have now been ordered by the other company to stop using the logo. Do we have to stop using the logo?

What are the international copyright laws in regard to images names and slogans printed on shirts

How do you clear international copyright for an adaptation

I am adapting a novella from Viet Nam into a stage play and am trying to find information on clearing the copyright. The author has been dead for over fifty years. How does international copyright work

I'll try to provide an example to explain my question: An author (Mr X) wrote a book in country A in language 1. A publishing company asked a translator (Mr Y) to translate it to language 2 and published it in country B. Now, can I re-publish the book in country B with another translation? Do I need permission from the publishing company in country 1 or the publishing company in country 2 or Mr X or Mr Y or some or all of them? :-) Thank you.

How to bypass vcd39s or dvd39s with international copyright blocks that won39t allow disc to be played

My mom bought some vcd's and dvd's from another country. However when I tried to play it on our Sony vcd/DVD player it says there is some regional restriction or w/e. Is there any way to bypass this w/o purchasing another player? For instance ripping the contents onto a computer and removing the conflicting file then recopying? I appreciate the help. P.S. I really hope this doesn't turn into a discussion about copyright infringement and other various issues involved with international movies.

Question about international copyrights of a screenplay

If I've written a screenplay and posted it on one of those screenplay websites where everyone posts their screenplays to get feedback from others; what if someone from another country, let's say India (since it's known to steal Americans' movies and ideas), steals my screenplay and sells it in India? Do US copyright laws allow me to sue the person? If not then what are my options to get justice done? >>Please don't waste time with useless comments. Serious answers only.<<
