Photography Copyright Law Regarding Cars?
Sat, 21 Jun 2008 09:59:02 -0500

Ok, here's my situation... I went to an antique car show last weekend and took a lot of artsy photos of parts of the cars (grills, headlights, rims, hood scoops, logo badges, etc.) Now I would like to get some of these photos enlarged and matted and then sell them at future car shows. What does the copyright law say about this? I didn't think it was a problem with generic parts of the car, but what about when the logos or recognizable words are visible? If I have an artsy photo of a car hood with a corvette or ford logo visible, will they come after me? Is this considered art or copyright infringement when I sell it? Any copyright attorneys out there? Thank you for your help!
